The District Court of Guam has a constitutional duty to continue to hear and resolve cases, even during a period of government shutdown. To perform that duty, which includes the performance of functions necessary and essential to the continued resolution of cases, judges rely on their chambers staff, as well as the officers and employees of the Court. Therefore, consistent with national directives, all staff, officers, and employees of the District Court of Guam are ordered to report to work during their normally scheduled hours until further notice. All court proceedings will be held as scheduled.
The Court will continue to evaluate the fiscal situation and will adjust this directive as required.
