The District Court of Guam pleased to announce the winners of its local essay and video contest on theme, “Not to be Forgotten: Legal Lessons of the Japanese Internment” The contest, co-hosted by the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, was open to all island high school students and home-schooled students of equivalent grade status.

A local awards ceremonywas held at the District Court of Guam on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 3:30 p.m.. (See gallery for photos of the event.) These local winners have advanced to the finals of the contest on the Ninth Circuit level, where they are eligible to win $2000, $1000, and $500 for first, second, and third place finishes in the essay and video contests. The Circuit winners will be announced in June.
