Chief Judge Frances Tydingco-Gatewood ceremonially swore Mr. Anderson in at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, May 4, 2018.  He was previously appointed Interim U.S. Attorney by U.S. Attorney General Jefferson B. Sessions III on January 4, 2018, for a period of 120 days.

IMPLEMENTATION OF INCREASES UNDER THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE ACT OF PANEL ATTORNEY HOURLY RATES AND CASE COMPENSATION MAXIMUMS

The new panel attorney hourly rates of $140 for non-capital representations and $188 for capital representations apply to services performed on or after March 23, 2018. Where the appointment of counsel occurred before March 23, 2018, the new hourly compensation rates apply to that portion of services provided on or after the effective date.

The District Court of Guam remains OPEN

... and can continue operations for approximately three weeks, through February 9, 2018, by using court fee balances and other funds not dependent on a new appropriation.

Most proceedings and deadlines will occur as scheduled. In cases where an attorney from an Executive Branch agency is not working because of the shutdown, hearing and filing dates may be rescheduled.

Electronic filing of documents through the Case Management/Electronic Case Filing System (CM/ECF) also will remain in operation.
