Bankruptcy Seminar, September 11, 2017 - Update

The District Court of Guam is pleased to announce that the 2017 Bankruptcy Seminar will be held on Monday, September 11, 2017 at the Senator Antonio M. Palomo Guam Museum and Chamorro Educational Facility (“Guam Museum”) in Hagåtña. 
The seminar will be presented by Mr. Curtis Ching, Assistant U.S. Trustee, and Mr. Howard Hu, Chapter 13 Case Trustee.  Members of the Guam Bar Association and staff members are cordially invited to attend, and there will be no registration fee.

 Curtis Ching has worked at the United States Trustee’s Office for 29 years, first as a Trial Attorney, and now as the Assistant U.S. Trustee for the region which covers Hawaii, Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. He has also worked for a private firm in Honolulu and clerked for a bankruptcy judge in San Diego and for the Chief Justice of the Hawaii Supreme Court.
Howard Hu has been the Standing Chapter 13 Trustee for the Territory of Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands since 2005.  He also serves as the Standing Chapter 13 Trustee for the District of Hawaii since 1982 and has been appointed as Chapter 11 Trustee and as examiner in other bankruptcy cases.  In addition to his Trustee duties, Mr. Hu practices as a Certified Public Accountant with an emphasis on tax planning for small businesses and individuals.  He received his BBA degree from the University of Hawaii, his JD degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law and is a member of the National Association of Chapter Thirteen Trustees, Hawaii State Bar, and the Hawaii Society of Certified Public Accountants.  Mr. Hu is a member of the Board of Directors for the National Data Center and a former director of the  Bankruptcy Law Section of the Hawaii State Bar.
