A local awards ceremony for the winners of the 2017 Civics Contest was held at the District Court of Guam on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 3:30 p.m.. $150 was awarded to the first place winners or teams in each contest, $100 to the second place winners or teams, and $50 to the third place winners or teams.
These local winners have advanced to the finals of the contest on the Ninth Circuit level, where they are eligible to win $2000, $1000, and $500 for first, second, and third place finishes in the essay and video contests. The Circuit winners will be announced in June.
